UNITE Credit Union offers teens a variety of ways to save their money, while encouraging them to become educated and responsible young savers.

  • Share account for teens ages 13-17 that earns dividends on the first $5.00 deposited
  • Teens learn basic money management strategies through quarterly newsletters 
  • Check out our Claim Your Youth website for a financial glossary of terms, articles about topics teens are interested in, and posts from other Claim Your Youth teens from around the U.S.

At age 13, consider these financial services for your teen:images

Youth Checking – a free checking account with a free debit card, plus all of the free electronic services we offer so they can keep an eye on their accounts.

Youth Savings – a special savings account that’s tied to a debit card to help them save for whatever they and you (their parent/guardian) decides is important.

Prepaid Card – If they’re not quite ready for a checking account, a prepaid card loaded with their allowance may be a good start. They’ll learn how to manage their money while using the card, without any risk.

First Car Loan – UNITE Credit Union is a great place to get their first car loan. If they don’t have a credit score yet, we have tools to help them build their credit! 

Youth CD – Open a 12-month certificate of deposit (CD) and we’ll give them our current rate, plus we’ll add one basis point for each year of their age!
